July - Talent Development Project Graduation Concert
The Talent Development Project’s (TDP) START
ME UP Concert – Sydney Entertainment Centre
– Wednesday 28th July at 7.30pm and
is once again preparing to showcase Australia’s
best young new talent.

START ME UP is an evening spectacular of song, launching the
best singers and songwriters from New South Wales public schools alongside some
of the biggest names in the Australian music industry.
The 2010 TDP graduates will appear on stage with our special guest artists on WEDNESDAY
28 JULY at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. The Concert
will be hosted by ALAN JONES AO, former Australian Idol Musical
Director and TDP graduate JOHN FOREMAN and 2010 Golden Guitar
winner and TDP graduate FELICITY URQUHART.
Special guests appearing with the TDP Graduates include ‘Australia’s Got Talent’
2009 Winner MARK VINCENT, TDP Graduates and highly successful
Indigenous folk/jazz duo MICROWAVE JENNY (recent winners of
the Peter Garrett Breakthrough Award), much loved cabaret and theatre performer TREVOR
ASHLEY and from sensational dance show ‘Burn the Floor’, special guest JESSICA
LINGOTTI.
The START ME UP Concert is your chance to experience the amazing
talent of the future stars of the Australian music industry.

- Class Clowns.
Comedy Opportunityi

The annual comedy
competition for high school students (in Years
9 - 12), Class Clowns, is coming up at IPAC very
soon, 29 May.
At a Class Clowns gig, students who have prepared
up to 5 minutes of stand-up, comedy, a group
sketch, musical parody, or something else in-between,
participate in a rehearsal with a professional,
practising comedian, before presenting their
act at a real, live, public performance.

You

a listing of the Senior Vocalist groups. Also
in the document is information about our first
round of song auditions for Southern Stars. We
are not auditioning all the songs, but we have
chosen some vocalists we want to hear for specific
songs.

For Life Nowra

Pictured
are three ex students of our Region performing
at the Nowra Relay For Life event. Now finding
their way in the world as professional entertainers
Ashley Burgess, Kirby Burgess and Emma Hawthorne,
as well as having individual careers, are performing
here under name Divalets.
Each of these talented
young ladies has been a member of the Region's Performing
Ensemble and a featured artist in Southern
Stars. Their show
immediately followed the Performing Ensemble 2010

competition to write the song to be sung all around
Australia on September 2, 2020 for the Music:
Count Us In program. Selected students will attend
workshops with notable song writing mentors.

Feb - Performing Company Dancers
Rehearsing
for their performance at the Wollongong Hawks vs
Townsville Basketball game tonight at the WIN Entertainment
Centre.
They
must have danced well as the Hawks won
87-68.
17 Feb - Music Theatre
Workshops
Applications are now invited from schools for students
in Years 9 to 12 interested in attending Music Theatre
Workshops. The workshops will be held at the Seymour
Centre on the corner of City Road and Cleveland Street,
Chippendale.
There will be two days of workshops, the first held
on 22 April and the second on 23 April. Students
must nominate their preferred date for attendance
should their application be successful.
Workshops will focus on developing students' technical
and performance abilities, especially in the areas
of Dance, Drama, Voice (both solo and combined) and
the combination of these. Tuition will be provided
by professional tutors and specialist school teachers.
