27th October - Playing at Performing Company Graduation

Dear Band members and Parents,

We have been invited to perform at the annual Regional Company Graduation Concert again this year on Nov 14.

As well as featured artists from Southern Stars, the Performing Ensemble will also be presenting some of their items.

18 Feb 2008 - Applications to Join

Students from Years 4-8 in Public Schools in the Illawarra and South East Region of NSW and have been learning an instrument  for a minimum of 2 years are invited to apply to be part of the Combined Schools Junior Band Program in 2008.

This program has been running for a number of years and members of the group have gone on the become part of the Performing Ensemble and Southern Stars Showband as well as represent their school at a Regional Level.

This year, we will be forming 2 instrumental groups. 
A Concert Band which will comprise of instruments such as:

Violin, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Keyboards and Drums.
And a ‘Rock Band’ which will cater for instruments such as Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboards and Drums.

The 2008 Program begins with a 3 day residential camp at Stanwell Tops Conference Centre from Monday 17 March to Wednesday 19 March (Term 1 Week 8) All students who wish to become members of this program must attend the 3 day camp.

The total cost of the program is $190.
This will include the cost of the 3 day camp and subsequent rehearsal days (no more than 2 rehearsals per term in school time) performances, tuition from music staff, a booklet of music for the year, a CD and T-Shirt.

Nomination forms must be mailed to Mt Brown Primary School by Monday 10 March.
