an award winning display of Christmas fantasia.
The photos above show just a glimpse of it. Craig
is stage manager for Southern Stars by the way.

22 November - A huge week for Regional Performing Groups
At Nowra HS last weekend the Regional Performing Company held its annual graduation performance for parents and friends. Sonia has already acknowledged how successful this was in a Bulletin. Some more pictures here.
Immediately preceeding the Company performance was the Annual Parent Concert for the Regional Performing Ensemble. An equally significant event.
For the Ensemble this was not only a performance. It was partly preparation for long tour which commenced last Sunday and concluded today. A tour of 17 performances at schools and venues from Sydney to Mogo to Bermagui to Bega to Cooma to Jindabyne.
The final performance was at the Jindabyne Central School celebration of 125 years of public education dinner last night. A great show joyously received by the audience.

9 November - Fantastic Opportunity for English and Drama teachers
Bell Shakespeare is delighted to be able to offer Australian teachers in regional and remote areas the opportunity to apply for our Regional Teacher Scholarship 2010, enabled by the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation.
Next year will be the fourth year of the Scholarship and once again, twelve teachers from regional and remote areas in every state and territory will be selected to come to Sydney for four days of Professional Development with Bell Shakespeare, all travel and accommodation provided.

6 November - Ensemble and Company end of year shows
Saturday 14th November at Nowra HS. Ensemble show at 5.30pm followed by the Company show at 7.30pm, with a $5 bar-b-q dinner in between the two shows.
All audience members are welcome at both shows.
Free entry.
5 November - Regional Arts Grants for 2010
Applications are invited for grants for 2010. The information and application document can be downloaded via the link in the menu on the left 'Regional Arts Grants'

1 November - Duke of Ed International Forum 09 Concert Friday
Pictured is the finale of Duke of Ed International Forum 2009 Concert held last Friday evening. Participating in the concert were invited performers from NSW DET schools. HRH Prince Edward was in the audience and mingled with the performers after the show.
Somewhere in the picture are the Company Dancers from the Southern Stars item 'Come With Us'
In the front row is Hayley from Bulli HS who is both a Schools Spectacular and Southern Stars vocalist.
Congratulations. You all gave very strong performances and we are proud of you for being invited to perform at this level.

26 October - Reminder - Company End of Year Concert
Saturday 14th of November is the time for both the Performing Company and the Performing Ensemble end of year concert at Nowra High School. More information will be posted here soon.
23 October - Regional Auditions for 2010 Performing Groups
Information and an Apllication form is now available for auditions for Regional Performing groups for 2010. These include the Regional Performing Ensemble and the Regional Performing Company. The Performing Ensemble is the group that tours once a term. The Performing Company is the main avenue for inclusion in Southern Stars as a featured performer.
Of note is the extension of the Performing Company to include an auditioned choir in 2010.

Ensemble Home From Malaysia
Pictured squinting into the
hot Malaysian sunshine are the 46 students and 8
staff who travelled to Kuala Lumpur during their
holidays. In an exhausting 8 days they played 8 shows
at three different International Schools in KL, and
participated in workshops with their hosts, Mont'
Kiara International School.
The group wowed the audiences
everywhere they went, with standing ovations at a
number of the 8 shows. They also managed some sight
seeing and culturally diverse activities during the
tour.
Matt Tarrant from Bulli HS proudly
represented the group, playing the Last
Post at
the Anzac Day Dawn Service In Kuala Lumpur organised
by the New Zealand High Commission
of Malaysia for
the joint Australia New Zealand forces.
All our Ensemblers were wonderful ambassadors
for their schools and our Region.
