Those successful at audition for the ISER Regional Performing Company 2011 should check the Company page to download the Welcome Package. It contains information and forms to be completed to bring to the Company Launch on 27th Feb.

22 October - Performing
Company Concert
Featured performers from this year’s Southern
Stars arena spectacular, ”10 in twenty ten”, will present a showcase
of highlights of the year's performances at their end of year concert on November
6, 4pm at the IPAC theatre in Wollongong. Also featured will be the
Talent Storm winning item "Taj"
The show will run from 4-6pm. Tickets are $15
and are available through the box office. Click
here. The show will be open to the general public as well as an anticipated
large audience of relatives and friends of the cast.
Company members should check the wiki for details
of bump in and rehearsal times.
As members of the Regional Performing Company
this will be the final performance of the year.

Congratulations to all the Southern Stars Students,Teachers and Parents!!
You were all absolutely amazing!! Thank you for your
fantastic efforts in ensuring Southern Stars 2010 was the best show ever!
We have received such positive feedback from our sponsors and members of
the public and that’s
all due to the fabulous work you have done as part of our extended Southern
Stars family. Thank you for the many hours of rehearsals, sore feet, no voices,
bone tiredness and exhaustion that so many of you endured to keep our Southern
Stars shining brightly as the premier performance event in the Illawarra
and South East region.
Don’t forget if we want Southern Stars to survive as an annual event
we have to look at how we can encourage more sponsorship for 2011. I have
spoken to a number of students already who have some excellent ideas for
making this happen. I would love to hear from any student, teacher or parent
who has some ideas for seeking significant sponsorship for the 2011 performance. Also
don’t forget to write and thank our sponsors this year for their generosity.
WIN TV have advised that the broadcast date is Saturday
25th September but
as yet I have no details of what time the broadcast will take place. Keep
watching the website for further details.

26th September at 2pm)
Once again congratulations to one and all for a stunning
celebration of ten years of Southern Stars. I’m so incredibly proud

3 September - Lost Property
As always people leave things behind after
Southern Stars. Craig Hughes at Albion Park HS has a collection of items
including clothing, an electronic game and a music player.

be donated to charity.

23 August - Integral Energy Workshop
for Orchestra
Andrew Snell of the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music workshopping with the orchestra.

- Shannon Brown is performing in Southern Stars 2010

Shannon Brown of 'Ten Tenors' fame was
a featured performer in the first Southern Stars show in 2001.
Shannon has been working this year with student performers
in Integral Energy workshops and he has agreed to perform in the show
as an invited guest.
He is one of only three very special performers who will
re-create a moment from an earlier show.

producing special Southern Stars souvenir magazine on Wed Aug 25. It will
contain the names of this year's performers and a look back at 10 years

We can't cover all rehearsals but
this group is normally pretty spectacular and worth a visit. Not disappointed.
Can't wait to see this fully costumed and under show lighting.

3 Aug - The Squared Division Technologic
and MJ Mix rehearsal
Sunday 8th August
There is need to change the venue and time of the rehearsal
this Sunday 8thas we need a larger venue
to put the item all together.
Here are the details:-

Time 1:30pm - 5:30pm
Venue: Croom Road Sporting Complex, Croom Rd Albion Pk
There is a cost of $3 per student to cover the venue hire.
The Squared Division are very exited about working in a larger venue to ensure
the transition from the rehearsal to the WESC is as smooth as possible.

2010 School Performance
10 Year Anniversary
Tickets for the Schools performance of Southern Stars 2010 will be available through the Ticketek
box office of WIN Entertainment Centre from Thursday 25 June. The tickets
will NOT be available online. Schools need to use the ticket
form attached and once completed, this form should be sent to Ticketek.

Orders are due by August 4.
20 July - At The End Of The Day
The period of intensive
rehearsal has well and truly begun. For the Performing Company that included
the holidays with rehearsals taking up most of the second week for vocalists,
orchestra and dancers. Included were Integral Energy workshops conducted
by Charmaine Gibbs, Greg Shand and Kirby Burgess.

4 June - Street Dance Auditions
Date : Friday 11th June 2010
Venue : Woonona High School Hall. Nicholson Lane,
Woonona
Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm. At the end of the audition session
successful students will be required to stay and rehearse from
12:30pm – 3:00pm.
Please note that this information is for those who have faxed
their applications. Late applications won't be accepted.
What to bring/prepare: Please bring your lunch. You will need to prepare
a 1-2min dance based on your style of Street dance ie, shuffling, hip hop,
break dance etc.(please avoid music with explicit lyrics) You will need to
wear comfortable clothing. You will also be workshopping some ideas through
regarding this Southern Stars item.

13 May - Southern Stars 2010 Teachers
Meeting
Thanks to all the schools who have decided to join us again this year for
another adventure with Southern Stars!
Hopefully you have all received an email telling you about
the Teachers Meeting on Tuesday 1st June at “The Citadel” Smiths
Hill High School at 4.30pm. If not please let me know as there is a possibility
we have not received your initial Expression of Interest and I would hate
for any school to miss out.
At this meeting we will be doing a quick run through of the
show, you’ll
meet you choreograhers/choir coordinators, discuss costumes, hear some songs
from the show, see the dance routine for the Primary first half finale and
generally have a lot of questions answered. Posters and T shirt order forms
will be available for you to take back to school and the teachers info pack
will be given out.
We look forward to seeing you all there and wish you the best of luck for
a great lead up to the show.
